Conservation College on Wednesday, February 13, 2019

The Conservation College presented by the Iowa Nutrient Research & Education Council (INREC) will provide an overview of nutrient stewardship and conservation practices included in the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy.

The first half of the session will provide an overview of the new 4R Plus communications campaign. This campaign is aimed at increasing the awareness and understanding of nutrient stewardship and conservation practices. This bolsters production, helps retain soil and nutrients, builds soil health and improves water quality in Iowa.

The second half of the session will share ideas on approaches and opportunities for contractors and ag retailers to work together to link their customers to information and services for design and construction of practices to expedite delivery of conservation solutions.

The goal of the Conservation College is to better equip ag retailers and CCAs with information about practices. Specifically, the practices included in Iowa’s Nutrient Reduction Strategy. This will increase their familiarity and knowledge level about these practices so that they can be an information resource for their farmer customers.
